Fishing Quepos Fish Report March 11 2012

Fishing in Quepos today looked like it was going to be a great day, what a beautiful morning here in Quepos. Today we had return clients back with us from Flamingo where the red tide is so bad the fishing is horrible so they drove to Quepos to come fish with us.

The plan was for two full days one offshore and one in-shore depending on how the fishing reports were from today, and well the offshore reports today for them was not good, going 0 for 3 on Sailfish the anglers were not really happy at the end of the day but as any angler know that's why we call it fishing and not catching right?

Other Fishing Offshore boats today had similar results with very small fish counts, most boat raising from 1-3 Sailfish. Fastrak was 2 for 3 on Sailfish with only 4 raised.

In-shore fishing today was really steady again with lots of Rooster fish and Jack Crevalle released, so it was quite an easy decision that our group was going to try their luck inn-shore fishing tomorrow.

Fishing Quepos Fish Report March 10 2012

Fishing Quepos today that moon was still big last night but we are on the down side now so we are looking forward to the fishing o pick up here over the next few days in Quepos.

Fishing in Quepos we had a dad and his 3 sons on the Cowboy Jr. for a half day of in-shore fishing and they had steady action all day. They were able o release 2 Rooster fish, a ton of Spanish Mackerel and a needlefish.

Fishing offshore today again was the Fastrak 40' Luhrs with another bi group on board looking to get hooked up. At the end of the day the Fastrak and crew managed to raise 6 Sailfish and managed to release 3 of the 5 Sailfish that the crew of the Fastrak hooked up.

In-shore fishing today in Quepos was very good for most of the in-shore boats releasing multiple Rooster fish, Jack Crevalle among others.

Fishing Quepos again today he moon was hurting the fishing in Quepos. However there were a few great fish caught, today was one of those quality and not quantity days.

Fishing with us today on the Blue Pearl 2 was a group of 5 from Canada and they had a steady day raising 7 Sailfish and they managed to release 2 of 4 Sailfish and went 1 for 1 with Mahi Mahi for supper

Fishing Quepos today for a couple lucky anglers there was a Blue Marlin in the #650 range caught... what is going on with all the Marlin in the past few days here in Quepos? There were also a few Sailfish and Mahi Mahi in the fish reports here fishing in Quepos.

Fishing in Quepos the Fastrak was 1 for 3 on Sailfish with 5 Sailfish Raised total for the day

Fishing Quepos today was well....very slow as the big moon continues to affect the fishing. Fishing Quepos as the moon gets bigger the fishing is slowing down, this was not as much of an issue last year. Last season there was a lot more early evening showers to keep the moon covered, but this year there hasn't been any so the moon is out and the Sailfish are up feeding at night and being allusive when our anglers are looking for them the next morning.

Fishing Quepos on the Fastrak today was a group of 8 and they managed to raise 5 sailfish, releasing 2 of the 4 that the crew hooked up for them.

Fishing Quepos today we had a group out on the recently refinished Thresher for a full day of offshore fishing in Quepos. After getting a little misplaced they managed to find the pier in Quepos and Tracey got them loaded up and off they went looking for their catch of a lifetime.

Fishing was a little slower today but they still managed to raise 8 Sailfish and released 3 of the 6 they the crew hooked for hem.

Fishing Quepos for day two of his Quepos Fishing vacation today client was going solo offshore on the Cowboy Jr for a full day of offshore Quepos fishing. Not a really busy day for the crew today but they did manage to get the client his firs Sailfish going 1 for 3 of the 5 Sailfish that were in the spread

Clients fishing Quepos on the Fastrak had an amazing day releasing 4 for 6 of the 8 Sailfish that they raised and then had a monster #500 Black Marlin that took a little over 3 hours to get to the boat. Another amazing day fishing in Quepos

Fishing Charters Quepos we had 3 boats out for us here fishing in Quepos today. Two of them were heading Offshore and one was fishing In shore, so where should we start?

Fishing Quepos always love having children out on the water so we will start this fish report off with the family In Shore fishing. The group was out looking to hook up something for the little one and did he ever have his work cut out for him as he managed to release 1 Rooster fish and a couple Spanish mackerel, what a day this young fella will remember for ever I am sure!

Fishing Quepos we had a group of 6 on the Costa Brava with Captain Melvin and what a day they had with him. A day fishing with Captain Melvin is always an experience as you just never know what to expect, he just seems to always be at the right place at the right time. The Costa Brava managed to raise 12 Sailfish, and released 4 of the 8 that they had hooked up. Great day guys!

Fishing Quepos on the Fastrak today we had a group of 3 one of which was a return client that fished with us last year. They had a great day on the Fastrak with us, it's always nice to be able to get out of the heat in that nice Air Conditioned Cabin! After a great start with 2 Marlin crashing the spread they both managed to escape us without getting hooked up. Then right after lunch the Sailfish started to get hungry and it was like rapid fire for 3 straight hook ups one after the other and then there was a lull until mid afternoon when we picked up another great Sailfish. Fish totals for today was 10 Sailfish raised, 4 of 8 hooked were released at the Fastrak, and 0 for 2 on Marlin and this was the heartbreaker. Another great day on the Fastrak Fishing here in Quepos

Fishing Quepos Fish Report March 2 2012

We had a couple of boats out for us again today here in Quepos. We had a couple out on the 34' Sea Lady and what a day they had, they almost booked the next day before they got off the boat!! This Fishing Charter Quepos fish report is one of them that the number of releases just doesn't do it justice. They Managed to Release 3 Sailfish but lost another 4 right close to the boat and also managed to fight 2 Marlin! The Marlin didn't stay on for too long but they still got to feel the raw power that Marlin Possess.

Return client from earlier in the week managed to talk a couple others to join him for another day of fishing in Quepos and they went out on the Thresher for a 3/4 day in shore fishing. They got what they wanted as they released 2 Rooster fish and got a great Red Snapper for supper.

Fishing Charters Quepos today there were quite a few boats fishing in Quepos and they were all rewarded with excellent days. A good morning bite got the anglers on their toes and then the bite slowed as they day progressed.

Fishing Quepos today we had another group out on the Fastrak, this was going to be an experience as they were brining their 2 small children ages 16 months and 4 months with them as well as a baby sitter to help out.

Fishing started out great and they had quickly released 2 o the 4 Sailfish that they had behind the boat and he client decided that it was time to go try some bottom fishing for something to eat so off to the reef they went. and after a few hours of that they managed nada of the boom and headed back to Quepos.

Fishing Quepos is an addictive activity and this guy is already making plans o come fish with us again in May, this time they want to try an overnight fishing Adventure

Fishing Quepos another fantastic day and another great bite for the groups heading offshore. The fishing here in Quepos has been fantastic as of late and we are happy to announce that we are getting clients on to some good quality fish.

Fishing Quepos today's Fish report was another steady bite here in Quepos, this is what anglers were hoping for. The Makaira Indica was able to hook up a big Blue Marlin, but after about 1 minutes it came rocketing out of the water, landed on the line and managed to break of, too bad as it was a great fish. They also raised 10 Sailfish and released 5 of the 6 they hooked as well as 1 Mahi Mahi

Fishing Quepos today we had clients going out on 2 boats, one set offshore on the Cowboy Jr. and another group heading out on the Fastrak for some in shore action.

Fishing Quepos will start of wit the offshore fish report, when he clients got to the pier n Quepos this morning we found out that they were actually coworkers of the people we had yesterday, that was kind of weird it's not o often that you get that.

The offshore bite was a little better than yesterday and they managed to raise 12 Sailfish and released 4 of the 8 Sailfish that they hooked, great job guys!!

Fishing Quepos In shore we had a big group on the Fastrak, a few local business owners and their families, and for some reason when we get this one guy on a oat we always seem to have issues getting the fish in the boat, Captain Oscar calls him the "Gata Negro" or Black Cat in English. Easily put this means that this guy just seems o bring with him bad luck....every time. We had a few good bites but managed to release nothing in the couple hours we fished in shore today in Quepos. Oh well they all had a great time

Fishing Quepos today we had a couple that was in for a long day, we were picking them up in San Jose this morning, drive to Quepos, fish all day then turn around and head back to San Jose.

Fishing was good today and the clients got a late star as they stopped for some breakfast on the way to Quepos. They were heading out on the Fly Catcher and managed to raise 9 Sailfish, they released 3 of the 5 hat they hooked and also went 1 for 1 on Mahi-Mahi so needless to say they stopped for supper to eat the Mahi Mahi before they returned to San Jose.

Fishing Quepos day two for the clients that got back a little later than hoped with Captain Oscar last night. Besides being a little tired they were ready to go again this morning and today we had them on the Blue Pearl 2 with Captain Oscar playing Mate.. And the plan for today was looking at Captain Oscars record of breaking things this week.... well the plan was simple if something goes wrong we were just going o have to through him overboard...(insert laughter here).

Well the Fishing was good today and they had another great day of fishing with Captain Oscar managing to raise 14 Sailfish and releasing 5 of the 8 that would take a bait.

This was a great group of guys, over 2 days of fishing with us there was definitely some ups and downs the first day but they still managed to have a great time with our great crews. It takes a great crew to make for a great day of fishing no matter if the fishing was super or not so great. These crews are what makes your Quepos Fishing Charters great!!!

Fishing Quepos Fish Report February 23 2012

Fishing Quepos today we had clients that were on the hunt for Captain Oscar as they had fished with him before here in Quepos. On arrival to the Pier this morning we found out that the last time these guys were here they had a large group hat needed two bots so half of the group fished with Captain Oscar on the Tiger shark and the other half had fished with Captain Bill on the Unique and had a great time here fishing in Quepos.

Now this is where there really is no other way to tell this report, even though most of it is any boat owners nightmare ... These clients were here to fish with Captain Oscar on the Mar 1, only problem was that he Mar 1 didn't want o fish with them and decided it was time to not run as we would like so she was out of commission for these guys. Now the next problem was that these clients were coming o fish with Captain Oscar so we had to find a boat that Captain Oscar could Captain. We managed that and were ready for their arrival.

As they left they had a small issue and we wee going to put them on another boat (OK this is getting crazy) and they said no way we are here to Fish with Captain Oscar and as long as the beer is cold we will wait to you fix the problem. After a quick fix they were off and fishing.

Total fish count was 2 for 5 on Sailfish and they were having a great day and hen when they went to come back in...... The transmission on the boat started to slip leaving them coming back a about a 9 knot cruise, so they also got a nice sunset cruise... What a day of Fishing here in Quepos

Fishing Charter Quepos... you want a Marlin you say? well today my friends there were a few big ones around for the Charter fleet to try their skill on. Fastrak was one of the lucky ones and managed to release a nice 400 pound Blue Marlin as well as going 1 for 3 on Sailfish.

Fishing Quepos we had two boats out for us again today here in Quepos. Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 was heading south to Dominical to try the in shore bite down there for the clients day two of their Fishing Quepos Holiday

Captain Oscar managed to get them into some fish down there and the released a couple of Red Snapper, Some Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel however didn't get any Rooster fish.

Captain Melvin on the Costa Brava was offshore again today for their day two of their Fishing Quepos Holiday and they managed to raise 9 Sailfish that they released 4 of 8 Sailfish, missed 2 Mahi Mahi and had a small Yellow Fin Tuna for Supper.

Fishing Quepos had four boats out fishing for our clients today!! What a great day now where shall we start, let's start with the most fish shall we

Captain Melvin on the Costa Brava had clients that booked because of him, one day with Captain Oscar and one on the Costa Brava. After having a great day earlier in the week let's see how they made out with Captain Melvin, at the end of the day and running out of beer just in the nick of time they managed to release 5 of 8 Sailfish of the 12 that they managed to raise

In second we have a tie between two of the other boats the Frenzy and the Fastrak releasing 3 Sailfish each however the frenzy had one more shot as they were 3 for raising 11 and the Fastrak was 3 for raising 10 Sailfish.

Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 was the first off the water today with a half day of inshore fishing with a nice young couple. After what was a slow morning they had a few good bites and fights but at he and of the day managed to release only 1 Barracuda, over all a great day Fishing Quepos.

We were fishing in shore today here is Quepos on the Mar 1 with Captain Oscar, today we needed to get the client a Rooster fish. to top off his Fishing Quepos Holiday. We got this fisherman the first Sailfish of his life and now it was Rooster fish. time. We managed to find a hue school of sardines almost right away and were piling up the bait fish in the live well for what we hoped to have a good half day of in shore fishing.

After a few good bites, we managed to hook up on a freight train and the fight was on with a beautiful Quepos Rooster fish. Well was the fisherman ever surprised of the fight hat has was in for, and after about a 40min fight we released a nice Rooster fish. for him

Fishing Quepos Fish Report February 11 2012

Fishing Quepos today we had clients back for the fourth year running to fish with Captain Oscar on the Mar 1, after a slow start the action picked up and they raised 12 fish and released 5 of the that would take a bait.

Fishing at Lake Arenal on day two with only one angler, and a very slow morning we had a few small Rainbow Bass hit but only managed to release one. Over all it was a great experience at Lake Arenal with Captain Ron we hope to see him again soon.

Fishing Quepos was on the road for the next couple days up at Lake Arenal to do some lake fishing. Today was day one on the lake and Captain Ron was able to get them on some Rain Bow Bass, not any whoppers like the Sailfish that they had been catching in Quepos but was great for another Costa Rica Experience

Back in Quepos we had return clients on day two of their fishing charters Quepos holiday on a full day of in shore fishing and they had a great day releasing 20+ Jack Crevalle lost a couple Rooster fish. and a barracuda.

Fastrak was out today with return clients for the year already, and this time from the sounds of it.... well the ladies out fished the men and the Fastrak managed o raise 16 Sailfish and released 12 of the Sailfish that bit the hook here Fishing Quepos today

Fishing Quepos had two boats fishing for us today, the Mar 1 31' Bertram and the Blue Pearl 2 32' Hatteras. The Mar 1 31' Bertram with Captain Oscar was off to do a half day of in shore fishing and had a good day releasing 2 Rooster fish., 1 Jack Crevalle and a couple Spanish Mackerel.

The Blue Pearl 2 had a very slow day and released 4 Sailfish but couldn't convince any of them to take the bait. In the late afternoon out of nowhere came a big Blue Marlin and after about an hour and a half fight hey managed to release at the side of the boat an estimated 350# Blue Marlin so that made it a successful day fishing in Quepos

February 7 started clients fishing charters Quepos holiday started for this group, today was day one of two and they were heading offshore for the day with Captain Oscar on the Mar 1

We had another newcomers to the Sailfish world today and after a steady bite for most of the day they managed to raise 15 Sailfish and released 4 of the 8 they hooked, they also managed to release 0 of 2 Mahi Mahi they had bite. Another great day on the Mar 1 Fishing here in Quepos

Fishing Quepos Fish Report February 6 2012

Fishing Quepos for the first time for one of our clients today, and we had him busy almost immediately. We hooked him up on a nice Blue Marlin not 1 minutes after he lures were in the water, after about a 20 minute fight the Blue Marlin decided he had enough and spit the hook on them.

After a great day we managed to make another clients memories of the first second third and fourth sailfish. For the day the Mar 1 and Captain Oscar went 0 - 1 Blue Marlin and 7 for 9 on Sailfish

We also had the Blue Pearl 2 on a half day of in shore fishing and they managed 1 Rooster, Mackerel and a few other bites.

Day 2 of offshore fishing today clients were on day 3 of their Fishing charters Quepos Vacation today. And what another great day of fishing they had, raising 13 Sailfish to the boat and releasing 7-9 sailfish.

This Fishing Quepos fishing report is one of three for this group fishing with us. They have 2 days of Offshore fishing and one half day of in shore fishing planed for the week as well as two days diving... what a schedule.

Day one of offshore fishing for the guys started off a little slow and seemed to pick up in the afternoon, but never really did get to a great bite. They managed to raise 8 and released 3-5 on the Blue Pearl 2.

We also had another group that we managed to get last minute in to fill a cancelation on the Pez Rey with Captain Pepsi. This is a Captain that most here consider the best in shore Captain in Quepos, if Pepsi isn't catching fish than it's a slow day. They had a great day though managing 1 rooster 1 snapper 3 corvna

Fishing Quepos today we had a client that has fished with us and Captain Oscar Many times in the past. We love having these clients back as they seem to also bring with them amazing days of fishing here in Quepos. Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 seemed to be on another planet as all of the other boats were having a tough time today and buy noon hey had rung up an amazing fish count with 5 of 8 Sailfish releases, 1 for 1 on Mahi and you should see the AMAZING video we got.

Fishing Charter Report from Quepos for February 2 2012 we had a couple on board the Mar 1 today with Captain Oscar. The clients wishes today were to get his wife a Sailfish, all he said he wanted was one... oh no that usually means problems as the only thing else that a Captain hates to hear is "OK 1 more and we can go home". However today here in Quepos these guys had a great charter with us on the Mar 1 with Captain Oscar, they raised 18 Sailfish to the boat and released 8 of the 12 that would take a bite.

Fishing Quepos had a group of five clients out on the Mar 1 with Captain Oscar today. Captain Oscar put them on the fish right out of gate and kept them on the fish all day. Fishing Quepos Fish Report January 28 2012

Fishing today here in Quepos was Captain Oscar on the Mar 1. Today was the beginning of the fishing day one for this group, they have another full day offshore and then we take them to do some lake fishing in Arenal for the end of their 3 week Fishing Quepos holiday.

Day 1 of fishing in Quepos one of them had never been offshore and neither had caught a Sailfish so we knew that we were going to be creating some great memories for both of them. A slow morning of Fishing and then the action picked up mid day but the Sailfish still weren't biting as hard as we would like but Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 managed to go 3 for 8

Fastrak was Fishing Quepos as well today and managed to go 7 for 10 on Sailfish.

Fishing on the Mar 1 today with Captain Oscar we had a mixed group 3 singles that we managed to get together as a split charter. Captain Oscar on the Mar 1 went 3 for 6 on Sailfish.

Fastrak had a decent day of Fishing Quepos as well going 3 for 5 on Sailfish.

Oscar great day fishing in Quepos with a family for a half day In Shore. The trip was planned for the young man for a birthday present. As we all know Captain Oscar love having the young ones on the boat and he put them on the fish today. The young man managed to fight a couple of Rooster fish., some Snook, a couple Jack Crevalle, but this day the fish were always one step ahead of him and he didn't manage to get any of them to the boat, Dad had a little better luck and released a couple Jacks Crevalle.

Mice Azul another great day of Fishing Quepos In shore today they managed some more nice Rooster fish. and some more Covina's in the 60# range.

Fastrak 8 sails, this new comer to fishing in Quepos has been racking up the fish totals, this fishing boat is a 40' Luhrs with an amazing crew and has been getting the release numbers to show that they are a force to be reckoned with.

Mirce Azul had a great in shore fishing trip with a couple Rooster fish and a bunch of big Covina's. Bill fisher 25 for 38 on what can be described as an amazing day offshore for them.

Fishing Quepos we were lucky to have two boats fishing for us today in Quepos.

Fishing Quepos today was Captain Oscar on the Mar1 Sport fishing Mar 1 31' Bertram with a nice young couple from Winnipeg, Canada. It has been amazing the amount of Canadians we have had on the Mar 1 this season so far. They had a great day of fishing in Quepos and managed to release 4 of 7 Sailfish that the crew of the Mar 1 hooked up for them.

Fastrak was out fishing in Quepos again today and had another great day of fishing going 8 for 12 on Sail fish here in Quepos

Quepos Fishing Charters offered up another slow morning here in Quepos, however the bite picked up like crazy in the afternoon keeping everyone on their toes releases of Sailfish some boats got 5-8 n the afternoon after a slow morning bite

Fishing Quepos today was nothing short of amazing for the Mar 1 with Captain Oscar. We had two goals for fishing today, one was to get Nic his first billfish, and the second was to let Matt from Canada set a couple of hooks himself.

Today's fishing in Quepos report is taking a backstage to what we consider an event that is way more important to our futures as fisherman.

Today on the Quepos Fishing pier the first annual infant sport fishing tournament was held for children from the ages of 6 and 12 years old. Children from all over Costa Rica attended this fishing event in Quepos. This fishing tournament was held to show and teach the children how important the Sport Fishing industry is to the Quepos area. Local Captains and mates showed the children the importance of catch and release and the impact that the commercial fishing fleet has done to the local fish populations

Medals and awards were given to all of the children and some great trophies were given to the winners of the Fishing tournament in their separate age classes. They had an excellent turnout and had the maximum of 50 children that they planned. Now there are more areas of Costa Rica that are panning in the footsteps of his great movement!!

Mar 1 Sport fishing had the 31' Bertram out today with Captain Oscar looking for a 50th birthday present for their client. Kind of a side note but kind of a neat story as today's client also spent his 40th birthday fishing in Quepos, so it was good to see him back again

Well fish fans on his day the birthday boy managed to get, well less just say he was 0 for 3 and the wife was 2 for 2. I bet she's never going to let him forget that!!

Fishing Quepos today we had Clients fishing on the Fastrak here in Quepos. For those o you who have had the chance to be onboard this Quepos Fishing Boat, you need to try it out great boat and crew.

Fish totals for today was only 3 for 7 on Sailfish, a lot of fish coming in to inspect the baits but with the full moon as of late they just don't seem to be doing a whole bunch of feeding. Over all though it is still promising to see the Sailfish up in the spread

January 2 we had a couple out on the Chasing Bills and what a day they had, lots of Sailfish up in the spread, they just weren't taking the bait. They did manage to release 2 of what seemed like 100 bites Today as the Sailfish completely destroyed Captain Tim's Ballyhoo supply on board the Chasing Bills
